Terms of service

Last updated 13 October 2026. These terms cover your use of GeoBarkr at gabarker.com/geobarkr, run by George Barker. By playing you agree to them. Contact: info@bearings.quest.

The game

GeoBarkr is free to play. It's provided as it is: I aim to keep it running and accurate, but I can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that saved games, scores or leaderboard places will never be lost. I may change, pause or stop any part of it.

Your account

• You must be 13 or older to create an account, and it's for your own use.
• Keep your password safe; you're responsible for what's done with your account.
• Display names must not be offensive, impersonate someone else or infringe anyone's rights. I may change them, or close an account, if they do.
• You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time (see the privacy policy).

Fair play

Don't cheat (for example by reading the answer from your browser, using scripts or tampering with results), attack or overload the service, or use it to harass other players. I may remove results or accounts that break these rules.

Google Maps and Street View

GeoBarkr shows maps and Street View imagery from Google. By using them you also agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Imagery and map data are © Google and its data providers.

Maps you make

You can make your own maps, with places in Street View or photos you upload. Only upload photos you took or have the right to share, and nothing illegal, hateful, sexual, or that shows private details about other people (faces of strangers up close, number plates, addresses). Public maps can be played by anyone signed in. I may switch off or delete any map, or remove a photo, without notice. You keep the rights to your photos and let GeoBarkr store them and show them to players of your map for as long as the map or a game on it exists.

Content

The game's design and code belong to George Barker. Profile photos from Google sign-in remain yours and are shown only as described in the privacy policy.

Liability

As far as the law allows, I'm not liable for any loss arising from using GeoBarkr. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law as a consumer.

Changes and law

I may update these terms; the new version will be posted here with a new date, and continuing to play means you accept it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
